ITU DEVELOPMENT WORLD U23 & JUNIOR CAMP 13

The Rio Maior Sports Centre hosted between 1st and 9th September the International Triathlon Union Development World U23 & Junior Camp 2013.

A squad of athletes and a group of mentor coaches primarily from emerging and developing national federations were selected to participate in the camp under the guidance of an outstanding coaching staff.

This international training camp was for athletes between 16 - 23 years (Competing in the Junior or U23 category at the 2013 ITU World Triathlon Grand Final in London).

This training camp meets in Rio Maior 52 people from 5 continents, 17 countries.  30 athletes, 10 coaches, 12 staff persons (physiotherapy, media, bicycle mechanics, etc..), officers and ITU directors.

On 2nd September the ITU President Marisol Casado was in Rio Maior for the opening session together with the Secretary of Sports and Youth in Portugal, Emídio Guerreiro who represented the Portuguese Government.
